Celebrating 150 Years of Jaipur's Crafted Legacy
Rayu is the evolution of Tatiwalas Gehna, combining the traditional craftsmanship of fine jewellery with a contemporary entrepreneurial vision.
Ours is a story told in gold and stone, carried across generations of hands in the Pink City. What follows is the arc of that legacy, from a founding vision to the modern atelier that carries it forward today.
The Evolution
In the workshops of Jaipur, a family set out to master the age-old arts of Polki and Jadau, the hand-setting of uncut diamonds into pure gold. From these first pieces grew a reputation for patience, precision, and a refusal to take shortcuts.

The craft moved from one generation to the next, taught not from books but at the bench. Techniques, proportions, and the quiet judgement of a master jeweller were inherited alongside the tools, keeping the tradition alive and unbroken.

The house became known as Tatiwalas Gehna, a name families returned to for bridal sets and heirlooms meant to be inherited. Loyal patronage, built slowly over decades, became the truest measure of the work.

A new generation brought fresh sensibilities to the atelier, pairing traditional artistry with lighter, more wearable design. The same handcraft now spoke to the rhythms of modern life, without losing its soul.

Rayu emerged as the evolution of Tatiwalas Gehna, the elegant intersection of a rich family lineage and a bold, contemporary vision for the modern woman. Each piece remains a conversation between generations, crafted to be worn today and inherited tomorrow.
