150 Years of Trust, Craft & Jaipur Heritage
More than 150 years ago, in the heart of Jaipur’s historic jewellery quarter, Gopal Ji Ka Rasta, a legacy was quietly born.
The journey began with Shri Vishveshwarnath Ji Tatiwala, who started a modest jewellery business from his own ancestral home. At a time when families lived and worked together, nearly 85 members of the Tatiwala family shared one roof, dedicating themselves to the art of jewellery making and trading. From this very home, silver jewellery was crafted and sold with honesty, skill, and deep respect for tradition.
Over time, the house itself came to be known as “Tatiyo Wala Ghar”, and the family residing there proudly adopted the name Tatiwalas, a name that would go on to become synonymous with trust and craftsmanship in Jaipur’s jewellery circles.
Carrying the Torch Forward:
The legacy was carried forward by the next generation –Shri Ramesh Chandra Tatiwala and Shri Suresh Chandra Tatiwala, the two sons of Vishveshwarnath Ji. Under their guidance, the business continued to grow steadily, preserving traditional values while adapting to changing times.
The fourth generation marked a turning point. Shri Sanchit Tatiwala (son of Ramesh Chandra Tatiwala) and Shri Sumil Tatiwala (son of Suresh Chandra Tatiwala) and entered the business with a shared vision to expand the craft while staying rooted in heritage. From the same ancestral shop in Gopal Ji Ka Rasta, they began creating Kundan and gold jewellery on a small scale, blending traditional techniques with evolving design sensibilities.
2011
Growth with Purpose:
In 2011, the two brothers took a significant step forward by opening a new store at City Pulse Mall, Jaipur. This marked the brand’s expansion into a larger operational scale, combining wholesale expertise with a dedicated retail experience. During this phase, they introduced a new and defining product line uncut diamonds, known as Polki jewellery, further strengthening their presence in the bridal and heritage jewellery space.
Continuing their commitment to quality and control, the family established a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit in Anandpuri, Jaipur, in 2021. This enabled complete in-house production, ensuring precision, consistency, and uncompromising craftsmanship across every piece.
2024
The Birth of RAYU:
In 2024, the legacy entered a defining new chapter with the launch of a two-storey retail showroom under a new brand identity RAYU.
RAYU was founded by Mrs. Shweta Tatiwala, wife of Shri Sanchit Tatiwala, and Mrs. Sapna Tatiwala, wife of Shri Sumil Tatiwala, bringing a fresh, contemporary vision to a heritage built over 150 years. Together, they now lead and curate the retail experience, shaping RAYU as a refined destination for modern brides and jewellery connoisseurs.
While Shweta and Sapna Tatiwala helm the retail front, Shri Sanchit Tatiwala and Shri Sumil Tatiwala continue to oversee the wholesale operations and the in-house manufacturing unit, ensuring that every creation upholds the family’s long-standing standards of craftsmanship, authenticity, and excellence.
RAYU represents the seamless union of heritage and modernity where generations of artisanal knowledge meet contemporary aesthetics, and Jaipur’s royal jewellery traditions are reimagined for today.
